National Apprenticeship Week 2021
This week is National Apprenticeship Week, which is an annual week-long celebration of apprenticeships across England and is a time to recognise and applaud apprenticeship success stories across the country.
Here at Blade and Rose we are proud to work with the National Apprentice Scheme and have done since 2011. In fact, we are pleased to say that our very first apprentice is still here with us now and their career path has rocketed and gone from strength to strength.
Our apprentices work alongside experienced staff to gain specific skills, as well as receiving classroom-based learning through a formal college programme, to achieve a nationally recognised qualification. We believe apprenticeship schemes offer a fantastic opportunity for the apprentice, but also for us as a business.
Jess our most recent apprentice is undertaking a 2-year apprenticeship scheme with us in Customer Service. She brings with her fresh perspectives; great new ideas and we feel lucky to have her in our team.
We asked Jess about her thoughts on why she chose an apprenticeship scheme and she said ‘making the decision to become an apprentice at Blade and Rose has been the best decision I have made. The more traditional full-time classroom learning based route was not for me and I didn’t enjoy it. I knew when I came across the apprenticeship scheme, that this was a better route for me to take. I am getting to learn new skills, gaining a formal qualification whilst getting paid, so it is really motivating me to do well. I can honestly recommend it for anyone who is wondering whether to go down the apprenticeship route’.
